Has anyone heard of a spyware dectector called "Spyware Nuker"? If so is it legit, and does it work? I used it to scan my system, and it claims to have found 40 infected files. It started off as a free deal, and now they want $29.95 to remove these "infected files". ![]() I have the page holding untill I feel it is legit. Thanks! AB |

It's just way to intice you to pay. Probably one of the better ones actually, some poor old person would buy into this. The way the good ones work(spybot and adaware) is they have full functionality, but you can only update the dats once (unless you buy it of course). That gets a thumbs up from me being a tech. I use these 2 programs quite a bit. |

I have no clue what "dats" are. Please educate me. Thanks AB |

Think about it, when a peice of software is created it only knows how to deal with the threats that our currently out there from the day it was created. So what happens when 4 months pass by after the software is created and there's 10,000 new threats since it's creation? That's where the updates come in.( I call them dats only cause thats what they call in in Anti-virus software and so it stuck with me over the years) You must update the dats almost daily to keep up on the latest threats. There might be even times when a threat exists, but the company is still scrambling to create an update that knows of this new threat. |

They are both excellent programs. And I use both of them regularly. And I recommend everyone else to do so also. |

I update the files on my SpyBot and AdAware every time I use them with no problems. I do not see how someone could keep a PC running without those two programs... I HATE FUCKING SPAMMERS, HIJACKERS, SPIES AND VIRUS WRITERS!!!! I would gladly beat any one of them I met into a bloody pulp. |

If you have Kazaa on your machine, both adaware and spybot will flag Kazaa as spyware. You can have adaware and spybot delete most of what Kazaa puts on your machine, but there are certain folders, which if removed will make Kazaa inoperable. It'll be a trial and error process to learn which ones to leave alone. Also, if you have Kazaa, run adaware and spybot, regularly. I went a couple of weeks without using them, and had over 2000 items to be removed. And I haven't found a way to check all of the items I want removed with just a couple of clicks with adaware. I spent 10 minutes checking each item I wanted removed, individually. |

| Now that Spybot has come back up I have a question. Every time I run mine it gives me a long list of "missing shared DLL" and "wrong app path." Can these be deleted or should I just ignore them? I havent done anything with them for fear of removing something that was needed. Suggestions? |
