Wen't to the Rochester N.Y. gun show this weekend, just looking.
Saw  a table full of AR's, SP1's $1400-1600, HBAR's $1700-1900, Bushmasters etc. all in the usual gun show price ranges, then noticed a PWA Commando, nothing special for $2400!
The guy was in serious discussion with a potential customer,  so I didn't get his attention, and I couldn't get an explaination about "why so high?"
N.Y., no class 3, any idea's on why?

Dude, it said "commando".

To me it seems all of his prices were high at what you listed.  Could be he was just playing up the, 'the ban is going to renew and be more restrictive', angle.

I can't definatively say with asking the guy. Other than that I am not sure.

Did it have some "tactical" accessories?

Nothing tactical that I could see, and yes high prices (Gun show prices.).
Still it's good to go look at a lot of toys  in one place, and I've occaisionaly walked out with items at prices that made me happy.
Sometimes they deal, and sometimes you just get lucky.

I am curious about the price though, it seemed way out of whack even compared to the listed prices for the other pieces on the table.
Wish I could have spared the time to wait him out.

$1600 for a SP1. Whoa nelly, I wouldn't pay over a $1000. There's this asshat who has a complete postban PWA lower for $400. It has been on the table for the past 3 shows.
