ah yes...i received this for xmas..and i have never had so much fun!!!  my SO gave me this gift as a reminder of our trip to Camp LeJeune last summer, when i got to sit in an M1 Abrams...

this is a 1/6 scale radio-controlled tank, made by 21st Century Toys, The Ultimate Solider.  it's got a machine gun, and a missile launcher!!  you know, i recently adopted to cats, and here i am looking at my new toy and then at my cats, and thinking...cool - i have moving targets here!! load up the launcher

I know it's 1:6 scale
But that must be huge.
I found one on eBay for $200.
Plus $40 shipping.

BTW, check out the 21st century website.
There is a movie of the tank in action.
Almost cool enough to buy.
Think I'll hold out for a Sherm, though.

Daayyy-ummmm!  How come they didn't have cool assed toys like this when I was a kid???  The Stuart "Honey" tank is one of my favorites (it's just so cute).  A GI Joe scale Sherman would be huge but would be neat also.

The Stuart has a much higher coolness factor than the Sherman. I wonder if it can go over snow.

Remember the 'Haunted Tank' Comic Book series?

The WWII crew were Southerners and the Ghost of Gen. Jeb Stuart would always appear to the commander right before a battle to give some sort of cryptic advice on what to do.

A nice frame from Sam Glanzman, the original artist for the Haunted Tank series:

'The Haunted Tank' series ran for 26 consecutive years!

It was waaaay cool for this litttle unreconstructed Rebel!

Great photos, ETH! I still have a lot of my old war comics from the 60s and 70s, although they are a little worn as I used to read them over and over again. Russ Heath was my favorite artist; he illustrated a lot of SGT ROCK and Haunted Tank comics.

Have you seen the radio-controlled Abrams that shoots Airsoft? Because that's cool.

If you want realism go for one of Tamyias RC 1/6-1/16 tanks.  They have a German Leopard and Tiger tanks that are just awesome. Real gearboxes and traversing turrents.  Comes with a nice price too.

thanks for posting those pics...

anyway, this tank is way too much fun...you know, i'm already thinking, now...which one should i get next?? hell, Valentine's Day is only about a month away!!!!

i haven't yet taken it out of my apartment to see what it can do over various terrains...i don't think my neighbors would appreciate the sound of machine-gun fire and missiles launching thru their windows.

Those 21C M5 Stuarts are pretty nice. I love collecting 1/6th, such an addictive hobby.
