What kind of gun survey starts off asking questions about gay and lesbian homosexuals?

Sorry, but I didn't get past the first page of the survey, and would be concerned somebody might think I was "lite-in-the-loafers" for posting a survey like this.....

My guess is that the survey is looking for "bundling" of attitudes, e.g. are antigunners more socially liberal on other issues that pro-gunners?

What puzzles me (unless this is a well-designed survey and "bundling" is the issue) is what possible difference it makes what people think happens when gun ownership rises? The stats are all in on that one, and the result is that increased gun ownership/CCW either has no effect on violent crime, or it decreases it. Every time.

Typical of the dishonesty of homosexuals when it comes to anything having to do with their lifestyle, StonerStudent has called this a "gun survey" when it clearly is not.

For all those getting all tin-foil over this, it IS a gun survey.  Once you get past the first page or two the last 4 or 5 pages are all about guns.

I took it after it got posted on another board the other day.

Let'em know what you think, I sure as hell did!

You know the little comments boxes?...

[ME]You are communists, right? Just admit it."

"Would you say that having a gun in the home increases the risk of someone being accidentally shot?"
[ME]...Obviously, without a gun one could not accidentally shoot oneself - useless question.  It is more likely that my kid will drown in a bucket or pool, or be electrocuted, or poisoned, than accidentally shot.

"Even if the widespread ownership of guns greatly reduced crime, I wouldn't want to live in a society where lots of people armed themselves for self-protection."
[ME]....who wouldn't want to live in a society with greatly reduced crime?

"Even if banning handguns would greatly reduce crime, society shouldn't prohibit law-abiding citizens from owning guns for self-protection. "
[ME]...Make sure you make it sound highly unlikely that crime will be reduced so you can steer your responses.

From a hypothetical Congressional candidate...
"allowing citizens to carry concealed weapons significantly increases violent crime, including rape.
For this reason, I've decided to oppose legislation that would allow citizens to carry concealed weapons."

[ME]...WTF?

I disagree. It's clearly labeled as a Survey on Social Issues. Guns are just another social issue, like the redistribution of wealth and homosexuals in the military.

Don't believe the hype.

Compare the title of this thread to the title of the linked survey.

It was not MY point that guns are just another social issue, but the point of the survey. I disagree with that point wholeheartedly. The right to keep and bear arms in mentioned in the Constitution, but I don't see any mention there of homosexuality, a prescription drug benefit or redistribution of wealth.

What an unfortunate and revealing turn of phrase. I don't have a hard-on for anything to do with homosexuals, regardless of any statistics you care to quote.

But as someone with experience dealing with one of the sacred cows of the homosexual movement, the military, I don't feel I should hide my light under a bucket. If that causes you grief, feel free to disagree. If having your dishonesty pointed out causes you grief, you may want to word things more carefully/truthfully.

I suppose a more accurate title may have been "A survey with icky gay questions and then four pages of gun stuff".

The survey doesn't ask if you think homosexuality is right or wrong, or anything like that.  It does ask whether you favor or disfavor special treatment of gays and others (you know, "social issues"?).  Did you even read it to get to the gun stuff?  I'm guessing no.

"EEEEK!  It says "HOMOSEXUALS"!!!! RUN!!!  READING THIS POLL MIGHT TURN YOU GAY!!!!"

Geez, get a grip.

Well a few liberal appiontments to the supreme court and if the majority of the country thinks the 2nd is a right for the state to have a milita, then won't be in the Constitution and that is what HCI and VPC are all, about selling gun control. Yale never intented this to show up on a pro gun site which is why I posted it.

There is another one that is worded differently here: http://islandia.law.yale.edu/ss/wsb.dll/braman/survey6.htm

It appears to have a broader range of choices.

I'm just wondering about this particular redundancy ... "gay and lesbian homosexuals" - are there gay and lesbian heterosexuals no one told me about? ;)

(A simple gays and lesbians will suffice).

Stoner, I see what `cha mean, but forgive them they know not ...

But you were also right there are a few gems here.

The whole point is they likely didn't expect PRO gun folk to take the survey - so we get to influence their results in a more accurate manner.

The Akron Beacon was also doing a survey ... not sure for how long though - and it's a quickie. Just asking if you're for, against or "not sure" about the CCW bill.

http://forums.prospero.com/n/mb/message.asp?webtag=kr-ohio_news&msg=189.1&ctx=0

So far it's 482 votes for:Great idea. About time. I will feel safer. (75%); Mostly in favor, but with reservations is at 42 votes (7%); and  This is a stupid idea that we will regret ever having passed. 89 votes (14%)

So let's go make that 75% a what ... 92%?

Geeze! No WONDER straight gun enthusiasts get so much grief from the left!

This is one has already been taken by SEVERAL Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and even straight far lefties" who think gun control is crap. As I posted on the National Pink Pistols egroup, "The only gun law we need is: Firearms training is a required class for all high school graduates."

As StonerStudent said, the link was posted HERE (by him) because it was posted on the GayLibertarians Group, I saw it and posted it to the National, Central Ohio, Cleveland, &Dayton Area Pink Pistols and DemocratsForThe SecondAmmebdment groups (where Stoner saw it - on the Pink Pistols groups).

It may have been shut down, AND I'll just BET it's because they didn't care for the results .
