There are a few libs that need to be re-educated about the subject here:www.xterraownersclub.com/cgi-local/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=20;t=005546 They are trying to tell me they don’t think firearms save lives and all that. Anyone have some links that are statistical in nature? THANKS!!!! ![]() |

Try this: http://www.guncite.com/gun_control_gcdguse.html it summarizes and links to (among other things) the famous Kleck study reporting 2.5 million defensive gun uses every year, and gives estimates of lives saved on the order of 40,000 a year. The base site (guncite) also appears to have lots of stastics and facts. |
| Could some one also post some sites for pro-gun research about gun control and statistics about curbing violence/crime. One of my students is doing a research report and asked me for places to find information. All I could think of was Packing.org, but I don't think that will have enough of what he wants. The NRA website was not very helpful either. Sorry for piggy backing on your post. It just seemed to fit right along with what you were asking. Thanks,guns762 |

Quoted: Thanks! Also, anyone have that quote from the Japanese general who said that he thought invasion of the USA would be a bad idea because every American had a gun? You might find that one is a myth or the true origin cant be found. http://www.angelfire.com/pa/sergeman/quotes/guns.html These quotes will remind that it doesnt matter if they do or dont save lives and its not about hunting. |
