Watched in Peoria IL, it was interesting, I swear the temp dropped just a little when it was at totality.

I did look around and it was sort of blue tinted around me.

What was amazing was just that sliver we had still showing it was bright as hell out. That Sun is a Blazer!

I had a more impressive day sitting at Shuckers on Biscayne Bay in Miami, yesterday, eating some calamari and a mahi-mahi sandwich.

Ho-hum.

I still don't get it. The pictures I have seen of the total eclipse are fascinating, as you can see not only the sun's corona but solar flares, the diamond ring effect, and Baily's beads. All really cool stuff.

The partial eclipse you can see (or could have seen in Virginia) looks like something I could Photoshop in about 5 minutes.

It was weird here...a couple of crickets started chirping, and the wasps came home to roost.  Got real quiet except for the neighbor's damn chicken.

We weren't in the path of totality, but it was about 90%

Also like the other guy said, it was surprising how bright it was with just a sliver of sun showing.

One from my uncle. He traveled to my sister's house in TN to see the eclipse.

Amazing and long day!  The world turned a slight purple hue for about 45min all around us, then totality hit and it was instant sundown in 360deg.  The clouds on the horizon turned pink and that was the icing on the cake.  Looking up with the binoculars you could see clearly the corona up close.  I had to use the camera since my 10yo hogged the binos.    Perfectly fine, though because she was totally amazed.

Similar to how I did.                If anyone knows where I can find a Iphone 7+ mount for a Kowa 25x EER eyepiece,  please share ( I found a few, but not the 25x EER )

Pics from my potato and a couple shade 7 lenses taped together.

Shot through some clouds-

Not much left. You can see the effect from two lenses stacked.

Hope you don't have a permanent retinal burn.

If so, that isn't going to buff out.

Had ~40,000 additional people in our AO today. It was truly amazing and not over-hyped. Totality is the real deal. Cicadas going as totality neared, then dark. Had a screech owl going and then the light crept back in. My picture could be a twin for durka-durkas.
