Cloud cover'snot too bad right now; kind of a crapshoot for eclipse time, but I'm pretty optimistic after watching the local forecasts.

KC? I heard it was supposed to rain there I won't care if it was pouring down rain. I scheduled off... I'm staying off

I got in to my office this morning on the Landing in downtown Saint Louis and traffic was lighter than usual, but there were a large number of out of state plates on the highway... as well as an unusually high number of lane weaving, no turn signal using, borderline reckless speeders.
I figure I'm going to go up to the roof to watch the eclipse. |

Leaving for Plattsburg in a hour or so.
Hopefully the weather stays decent. http://www.ssec.wisc.edu/data/us_comp/us_comp_big.html |

In Jeff, commute in was not any different from any other Monday, after work commute may be worse. We do have some thin clouds rolling through right now but nothing that should block viewing. |

Did you drive from MI to Linn, MO just for the eclipse? Quoted:

I'm in Linn right now. Looks like I might get lucky with the weather. |

I was going to try to be up in Sibley for the eclipse, but now I'm stuck out in Olathe. Looks like clouds will be the only thing I see anyway. |

Just arrived in DeSoto where it's supposed to be one of the hotspots for longest totality. Lots of people along the road charging anywhere from $10-30 for parking.
II planned ahead and went straight to Wal-Mart. Wide open parking lot with a clear view of the sky. Hope this works out. |
|
I live in St. Joe. Weather forecasts are rarely correct, unless you can watch storms move across Kansas on radar. Doesn't matter if it's 0% or 80% storms or clouds - you won't know until that minute.
From my deck, clouds to the west and sun to the east. No traffic yet. The 'big' view party is at Rosecrans Memorial Airport (Reserve AFB), which is accessed from Elwood, KS. |
