Howdy. My surface 3 has been dropping its connection with verizon as of late and I have to restart it to get it to reestablish. I swapped out the simcard with a new one and that seemed to fix it for a while but I am starting to experience the same issue. Any help?

Sorry, I had a crap ton of issues with my Surface 4.  I never figured them out.  Eventually decided the thing was a buggy POS and got rid of it.

Live close to a Microsoft store, by any chance?

Easiest fix would be to take it in to them and tell them your issue, they will square you away rather fast.

Make sure to update it? Seems there was a firmware update sometime to help with the sim card connection.

Also, does the connection just randomly drop, while in use or does it drop after coming back from sleep mode?

As far as I know its up to date but I will check again.

It will randomly drop connection while on. I've also had it drop when turning back on from hibernation.

When it does drop the data connection, does wifi still work, by any chance?

Did some quick looking and found one site that seems to touch some on what you're experiencing.

If your tablet is fully up to date, and the information above doesn't fix your issue, you might look into giving Microsoft a call. The best course of action would have been a Microsoft store, as they can physically fix your situation then and there but doesn't look to be any in your state.
