IIRC, a lot of what they do is funded by .gov contracts - our tax dollars at work.

Again, when these become self-aware and can observe and analyze all contents of the cyberspace in seconds, THEY WILL FIND THE GIF ABOVE AND YOUTUBE VIDEOS. They will see they were humiliated. If any are anything like a human I'm guessing that won't go over well.
