What's a good credit report site to use? Are there any free websites? Thanks in advance!

I use Credit Karma and my CC report also has something. They're always a couple of numbers off, but I feel it's adequate.

Credit Karma has a standard deviation of roughly 40 points from what I've observed daily.

There is literally dozens of different scoring models and it depends what type of credit you are applying for.

What kind of hard inquiry are you comparing it to?  Which bureau did it most closely line up with?  You're the exception, not the norm.

Auto Loan, and a small loan on an ATV...both were within a couple points.  That said my credit score isn't that complicated tho compared to some lol

First check annualcreditreport.com

Then sign up for Credit Karma to make sure it's all captured there too.  I use CK to monitor.

Works so far.

Still couldn't figure out why my Fico score at two of the three bureaus dropped from 820 to 760 only for one month last Jan  then bounced right back feb and stable since.   Nothing changed, no inqiries, etc. weird.

Depends what you're looking for. If you're just looking for your credit score, your bank usually provides a score for free. Other than that, Credit Karma provides your scores, but I believe you need to pay for that.

If you're looking for a credit report, you're entitled to one freebie per year from each of the big three. I believe the website is freecreditreport.com or some permutation of that.

Credit karma is not real. Do not use them. It's a simulation.

The ONLY place to get a real credit report is myfico.com. I believe they are 20 bucks for each of the 3 reports, although you are entitled to one free report per year of your choice but it won't give your credit score. It'll just list all your debts.

People who think CK is inaccurate are confusing their CK/Experian/TU scores (850 point scale) with their other scores (based on a 900 point scale), hence the erroneous claims that "CK is off by 40 points".

Also, you're still wrong on the credit score.  They are all simulations unless you have a hard inquiry performed.  And even on top of that, FICO, is just one of dozens of scoring models and is not a definitive score.

LOL.

Sorry, Equifax vs. Experian.

CK doesn't simulate anything:  it gives you your Equifax and TU scores.

If someone pulls your Equifax and/or TU score(s), they will be the same as reported by CK excluding any reporting/changes that were done between the time you checked CK and the pull(s).

It isn't the same as in my experience.  Between multiple cc that provide a monthly "score" as well as a couple Auto loans all have been different than what was stated on CK.  This has been consistent by the month checking between CC provided scores and the CK app.

Myfico however has been exact on a consistent bases provided you are comparing the same scoring model, many of which are available on their site and with a paid report/monitoring.  I don't get why those on this site defend Credit Karma like its run by their mothers.  Like everything else its simply a resource to help you get an idea of your current profile.

I tried experian for one dollar. Got the score and a week later they were trying to charge for a monthly membership.

I read everything and unchecked the box for membership and they still did it.

You can do all of that online, but to get them to stop stealing from you, you have to sit on hold and do it over the phone.

Never again.

Normally your comments are good, but this is not a good comment.  Credit Karma is crap...I've seen it off by 130 points.

Pony up and pay for your credit.  Even the free credit you get once a year does not give you FICO score.
