Yes, they're great quality rifles - all of the turn-of-the-century Mausers are. More of a question of "what condition is it in now".

If it's a DWM, it may or may not be antique - some are, most are not. All of the Loewe-made ones are antique.

I've got a Chilean Mauser 1895, the quality of manufacture is ridiculous.  It's one of my favorite milsurps to shoot.  Definitely a buy if in decent condition.

I would take the barreled action out of the stock and inspect it . Many of these are badly pitted under the wood line.
