I wrenched together a $370 Anderson pistol - equipped with a cheap Davidson Keymod handguard that was part of the "pistol kit".  I fired 10 rounds to zero it in this morning and noticed something odd on the table.

Even though I gorilla tightened the Keymod accessory rail onto the handguard, the accessory rail worked itself loose after only 10 rounds fired.  I don't know if this is a design flaw or, just the result of not loc-titing the rail screws during installation.

This was the end result:

I know, CSB.

Put some blue 242 on the screws next time and see how it does then.

Aren't Keymod things supposed to have a circular nub that fits into the ballsack, to keep it from walking forwards or backwards?

I'm not a fan of Keymod, but don't complain about your rail when you put substandard shit on your rail.

LOL...

Upon further review, apparently the nuts are supposed to float inside of the rail.  Somehow, I tightened the screws enough to mounts the rail onto the handguard but, the nuts were not floating inside of the rail.

Operator error.

This.

That rail is not designed right. It should have little holdback nubbins that prevent motion. The screws act to clamp the rail flush and the nubbins lock it in.

Keymod only works when the rail is properly machined with a 100-degree chamfer on the back side of the slots (barrel side of the handguard), and accessories use keyed nuts and incorporate a protrusion that engages one of the Keymod holes. With these three things Keymod is really superior to M-lok, but M-lok is easier for all the masses to use with less problems, so hence the false internet hysteria that Keymod accessories fall off.

We shall welcome every little one into the fold, even if they are slightly retarded & possibly ghey because of a preference for the D.

It was part of the $232 "kit" from Delta Team Tactical.  The goal was build a complete pistol for $340.

I normally run Geissele...
