Does anyone make a housing for AR15 trigger components?

I've seen some for trying triggers and such at shops

I might be able to make that work

Anything else out there?

Even a drop in trigger housing would work assuming it works with standard ar15 components

You went find a drop in unit that works with standard FCG parts because of the thickness of the parts to match the width of the lower.  You could maybe mill the sides off to fab something up.

I think he wants to put an AR binary trigger in one of his RPDs...

if the madman gets gets it done, I want pics.

If I had a machine shop I could probably fabricate a new rpd lower with one in it.

I'm sitting here looking at the rpd wondering how I can make it happen

I might have an empty one of these (no trigger or grip) laying around here somewhere.

All you'd need to make sure of is that the hammer hits the firing pin, and the the bolt carrier could interface with the mechanical governor, which I don't think is possible since there isn't a comparable region on an RPD as an AR15 BCG's rear end.

its gonna be some funky geometry if you can get it to work, if it's even possible.

HOnestly, a Remington 1100 Trigger group is lower profile and has a heavier hammer.

But then no binary

I figure if I could just get a ar15 trigger into a housing and closer to the carrier so I can weld some bar stock onto the hammer to make it taller I could make it work

A DIY binary trigger would be hot. Over $400 for a binary tigger is just too much. $200 or less they will sell like hot cakes.

I'm building a binary trigger pack for my RPDs that (mostly) drops in the stock lower.
Solid model is complete, just gotta machine it on my cnc mill once it cools down in my garage.

Don't bother with AR or G3 triggers. Neither will work right with the original rat tail recoil assembly. You'll have to relocate the recoil spring to the gas piston, like the DP28, or run a dual rear spring setup so the hammer can clear.

The pack I'm making uses a forked hammer to clear the rat tail, and hopefully it will work in my dp28, dpm, and Bren mk1 without much work.

I'll see if I can post a pic of the solid model later without completely giving away my design. :)

My garage is stupid hot this time of year, so I don't fire up the cnc mill very often. Once it cools down, I'll start making parts and fitting everything together.

Hey I'm pretty sure I stumbled upon your idea from a few years back

Pretty rough example I whipped up last night

Is your binary something youre willing to sell down the road?

Maybe. I built  an rpd several years ago with a g3 pack and a bump fire stock. It worked but it looked like hell so I shelved it. Now I wish I could find another original lower for that gun =

I'll probably sell a few, yeah. Before I can commit to an exchange of federal reserve notes for goods and/or services, I need to make sure it's golden and falls within atf guidelines.

Of course.
I spoke to another guy on Facebook about the same topic, and he has also mentioned he would be interested in beta testing.
Gotta try it out in a few different rifles, after all.

Indeed, it would have been.

I'm hoping I can have most of the parts laser cut, but the first pack I make will be made on the CNC mill, since I own a mill but don't own a laser.

I guess if there's more interest in the idea, I'll start moving a little faster on it.  I have a couple other guys interested, but that's hardly enough to justify making a run of them.

I've got one other big project that's got priority over the trigger packs, and that's my aluminum G36 receivers I'm working on.

That's what motivated me to make G36 receivers, a friend wanted one so he drew up a solid model and I am doing the CAM and machining work.

Doesn't hurt that he gave me a partial g36 kit to help motivate me.

That's for welding in to a MG42/M53 lower/grip.
Here's some pics of my M53 I'm building in 7.62x39, a generic photo of the assembly, and the trigger pack conversion I machined for it.
Unfortunately, this really won't work well for the RPD.
