There are a bunch of youtube videos of people building YJ traps out of 2 liter bottles. YJ's go in and can't figure out how to get out.

I found a big YJ nest and I made a few traps. For bait, I put in rootbeer, orange peel and baloney.

Fucking Yellow Jackets ignored my traps. None are flying into it. Is this some species that isn't attracted to sweets, sugar, fruit and meat?

Sorry I don't know but some of those DIY youtube vids are kinda out there.  "Here's a non toxic solution for bedbugs" for ex.

Damn,  I want toxic as fuck stuff killing insects.

I know that GRAPE soda attracts all the miscreants around here.....So maybe it'll work for you in your neck of the woods.

Good luck, and don't get stung!

Meat is supposed to be the best yellow jacket and wasp bait, but after a year the only thing I caught in both DIY and commercial made traps was lots of moths.  I tried every bait possible I think.

I ended up using Demon WP to get rid of them.

The trap might need some draft holes to let the smell out. The one hole from the inverted two liter needs a feeder vent.

At least that is what I am guessing, prove me wrong!
