Two Muslim men took over the Delaware Senate floor this week to pray to Allah in an Islamic prayer. In a disturbing twist, many senators
submitted to the Muslims by bowing their head in prayer as well.

Drove through Delaware one time, tiny place.

The fact that there is any sort of Prayer in a state building bothers me.

Not surprising. Sometimes I really hate this state. Not enough conservatives in our government to make a difference.

Uhh, it's Delaware.

They're all Democrats.

Little known fact: Delaware is paradise.  You don't need to actually have jobs or manufacturing - you just siphon off commuters from Philly.  You don't need competency in legislature, since money comes easy.  You don't ever need to worry about crowding, traffic, housing density...  because if the economy stays stagnant, nobody new moves in.  Do the crony thing with construction companies, teachers' union, etc. and everything runs exactly how you want it to.  Crime?  Just put all the black people in Wilmington and don't ever go there yourself.  Problem solved.

Nothing ever gets better, but nothing ever gets worse, either.  You've got suburban paradise and Darden restauraunts as far as the eye can see, and everything is within a 15 minute drive.

Delaware is what every blue state wishes it was.  It's the state version of Joe Biden (or is Joe Biden simply the personification of Delaware?).

Most manufacturing and industry jobs are gone. AstraZeneca, DuPont, Chrysler, and GM have all either closed their doors completely or have significantly downsized.
I agree with your second point as the legislature is primarily democrat, and we all see how that is trending.
Traffic is a nightmare. DelDOT seems to have every major roadway in various stages of construction. The multimillion dollar Rt 301 interchange isn't helping and is nowhere near complete.
As violent crime and drugs continue to rise in Wilmington it is spilling out into suburbia. It is spreading south to areas that never had problems with crime or drugs as well.
But all in all, you're right. It is mostly a liberal's dream.

Worst part about wilmington is there are nice pockets here and there, because somebody needs to pay for it all.

The nice pockets have people who care. I'll leave the rest up to your imagination.

This happened in the spring.  Two of the downstate Republicans walked out and caught some heat for it.

Delaware is a perfect compression of the eastern side of the US.  You've got the rich elites up north, progressing through what is becoming suburbia hell, down to the rural farms in the south.  Unfortunately, like the eastern US, the blue coverage is on the march south and completely dominates our state legislature now.  We're slowly becoming Jersey.

So basically the perfect place to drive the Prius down to Olive Garden and discuss cultural appropriation in popular music videos while looking trendy in a J Crew sweater, but the entire state is like that?

This is my question as well. As a Christian I often wonder how other people committed to their faith, can pray together with others who denounce their faith while claiming they have the correct one. Unity above the truth? Nope. Not for me.

They can each pray to their (G)god(s) (or not) for guidance in the privacy of their offices before assembling.
