Friend,just offered me a Remington 7400 semi auto 30-06 with a Bushnell scope for $300. Less than a 100 rounds thru it. Don't know what model scope yet. G/D's thoughts.

This,
30-06 with a scope, that would make a great hunting rifle.

I always wanted one when I was a kid, but dad bought my a 788 bolt action instead.

The 7400 in .30-06 had a reputation for jamming back in the day. I don't know if that was ever fixed. My dad has had one in .308 for decades and it works great, very accurate.

To be up front, I have no idea what the fair market value is, but for $300, at arms length it sounds like a fair deal. Like new rifle with a function all scope. Aren't going to find many of those in the used rack for that price.

Just a update. Gun is a 2006 model year. It is all black and the scope is a 4 something. Is it to much to ask to meet at the range and shoot it? It would be on my dime to test run it.
