I have tried that at the chiropractor right after my back goes out and it does nothing for me. It may loosen up the muscles but the pain is still bad.

Went to a chiro for the first time the other day.

They had me watch a 15 minute poorly made video before getting the adjustment.

Honestly a lot of it sounded like some new-age bullshit and I had to contain my laughter when they started talking about how crucial regular adjustments are for the flow of your body's life forces.

Dated a girl back in the day whose dad is a chiro. Dude wouldn't know medical science if it slapped him in the face. In addition to his chiro services, he sold homeopathic stuff, discouraged people from mainstream medical treatments, and administered 'allergy tests' that I had to try not to laugh at, lest I piss off his daughter. I will never see a chiropractor.

My sister-in-law is an osteopath, which means she knows about joint manipulation, but also knows a shitload of medicine (and is doing her doctoral research on, you know, real science stuff). That, I can get behind. Quack McQuackerson who peddles sugar pills to his 'patients'? Not so much.

I had the same about a year ago. I went to a doctor and got nothing but a referral to a neurosurgeon. I could not walk with the pain. I went to a chiropractor for the first time and I actually walked out of office. I went back a few times that month and it was gone. I have had a couple of adjustments since when I fell the pain coming.
Hate them if you like, but I would rather be adjusted than cut on.
