Anyone else watch the show? My wife got me watching it with her on wednesdays. I actually like it.

Massive upheaval and a systematic change in belief systems like that would not happen in one year. The two handmaids were out getting coffee one day pre upheaval and are completely confused about why somebody is screaming at them calling them sluts.  It's not just that. The entire setup is so forced it might as well be called rape.

| Just finished the season and felt i enjoyed it. Idk how long it would fly that only "select" handful of men get to father children.. while the others are slaves forced to be house servants or guards. The religion is obviously more culty than having anything to do with "Christianity". Situation is pretty messed up if you think about it... I would probably be leading a resistance movement. |

I read the book. Saw the original movie.
But this Netflix version? Screw it, gonna binge watch Housos and newer Trailer Park Boys when I renew after I finish my current irl book reading binge. I have friends of friends that are single I'd love to date, one a widow way to young in life I really have feelings for, but now that this show has came out all none married men are just scum of the Earth to her now. Grr! Which sucks, cause in that case we are in the same 5 year age bracket, and mostly lockstep mentally, aside from this Netflix show saying that I will somehow subjugate her, take her money, body, and even life if I wanted to cause, well Netflix says so. 8( Dam shame. Smart lady in the book sense, but saves me from making a kid, and getting the forum curse cause she has no ability to think logically in the irl sense. Oh well, sperm last longer than ovaries I guess. Can always freeze some swimmers irl since I don't get mega drunk, or chain smoke two or three packs of smokes a day. But I admit being now seen as a potential rapist, and murderous sexual predator cause of a Netflix show ticks me off. Even if we are talking book smart, world stupid people. Dam shame, all I have done in life is to try to not suck irl, and not be terminal poor, and tried to set myself up to where I would be a great dad if I ever get the chance. /Sigh God I hate this dam show lol! Sorry folks. I know it's just a TV series, and not real. /venting off! |
