What are y'all using?  My current program is having issues with ripping my purchased copy of John Wick Chapter 2 and getting the audio track right.

I did buy the DVD/BR/Digital Download but the Digital is a large file (4.07gb) and I wanted the DVD version ripped for my phone/mobile device

So what's free and good now?

I use handbrake for my personal DVD collection.  Some discs don't work though.  Don't know why.

Disc protection most likely.  Thought it couldn't break the protection.

I use makemkv.  Then handbrake to resize.

Eta: dvd version will be 4Gb too. You'll need to resize.

I use makemkv to start with as well and it works great.  The only time you run into issues is that some companies like Lionsgate.

It's not free but I use Magic DVD ripper due to disk protection on most movies. Haven't had any issues.

I use 123CopyDVD and I reformat for iPad and it tends to drop the gbs down. In this case when I tried it out, it took it down to 1.57gb.
It works on most DVDs but not on JW2. Audio wouldn't line up at all.

MakeMKV is good. It's not free but Redfox AnyDVD + Handbrake is great too.

+1, expensive though.
