I got a CETME years ago in a trade and just let it sit in my safe. Well, I took it to the range today and shot it for the first time. It ran really well and was fun to shoot. But it was also crimping the neck on the spent casings. I never saw that before. One of the gunsmith's said that it was a violent extraction, but if the gun was running fine then there was nothing to worry about.Â
Have you see this before? It seemed to be really crimping them after the gun heated up. Attached File |

All G3s and clones beat the dogshit out of brass. Normal. This is a great gun! I wish I had taken it out sooner. I did the head space check with a piece of paper and it came out fine, and since it runs, I think this one doesn't have any issues. Now I need to order more 7.62 ammo. |

I have a couple sizes of 'tapered cone pliers' for fixing brass like that.
Tapered Cone Pliers They appear to have gone up in price. Mine are not this brand and are actually pretty old. They do not get as large as these either. Better: Jewelry Fine Round Nose Micro Pliers |
