Who kills Mickey Rourke?

Rourke is floating in the pool when Creasy walks in.  Creasy finds a bloody samurai sword and the Caimen Island account info.

The obvious implication is that Rourke was killed with the sword but by whom?  It obviously wasn't Creasy.  Is it made clear in the movie somewhere and I just missed it?

From Wikipedia:

Creasy finds Kalfus murdered and then finds evidence of his questionable financial dealings with Samuel. He confronts Samuel and Lisa for the truth behind the kidnapping. Samuel confesses to Creasy and Lisa that he agreed to Kalfus' plan to stage Pita's kidnapping, so he could pay off business debts by fraudulently collecting the insurance money. He planned to keep $5 million for himself and split the rest between Kalfus and the kidnappers. He was told that Pita would watch cartoons for a couple days and be returned after the ransom was paid. Samuel confesses to killing Kalfus, and Creasy leaves Samuel with a pistol and the misfired round, which works for Samuel when he commits suicide.

That's what I took from it.

Rourke's character (Kalfus) was Pita's dad's (Ramos) lawyer and he set up the kidnapping. Remember early on, Ramos and Kalfus were discussing something and Ramos had reservations? They were talking about the kidnapping and Kalfus assured him everything would be fine. I think when Ramos thought Pita had been killed he went to confront Kalfus and wound up killing him with his own sword.

Thanks, I will pay close attention to that scene when it comes up.

Every time I watch this movie I'm impressed by what a masterpiece it is.  "The gun holds no fear!"

The "ORIGINAL" was truer to the book....

The BOOK was awesome......

But, not the happy Hollywood ending....

Yup, when he is confessing to his wife, in front of Creasy

"he lied to me! he said she(Pita) would be watching cartoon and eating ice cream...etc". Because Kalfus was the one that set up the kidnapping.

that at all I can remember...

Side track: WTF happened to Dakota Fanning? Did she disappear?

The gun that Samuel used is a 17.
Denzel carries a 34 before (and during) the kidnapping.

Anybody ever see the Scott Glenn version?  I saw the very tail end of it and I was wondering if it's good enough to watch all the way through.  I do like Scott Glenn.
