It's mater time and that means bacon and tomato sandwiches.  Fresh out of the garden.

Wish you could have one.

Meh, lettuce adds little flavor, it just adds a crunch and looks pretty. Ain't no reason to go out of your way to add it.

I just put some plants in the ground yesterday. I  can hardly wait for some good eating in a couple of months.....if we don't get a late cold snap and they all die.

Heathens, both of you.

On second thought, OP's club sandwich is missing lettuce and turkey.

It's got home grown tomatoes and bacon.

Anyone that says it needs anything else is probably a Commie.

Hold on, folks, I see mayo on that sandwich. You can put away your pitchforks.

For me, personally, the bread would be a week-long gut-punch, so I'd put the whole thing on a lettuce wrap.

Then I would cry because I wanted it on bread.

Old school southern.

I ate so many tomatoes as a kid from my Grandparent's farm that I thought I was going to start pissing ketchup.

AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Getting sick of the local Hothouse Maters.
It's been a LOOONG winter/spring.

Texas and Florida Maters carry us over until ours come in.
There is no reason to insult ones palate with Mexican or mexifornia synthetic maters...never.

Texas Beefsteak maters are almost as good as our own...just add basil and a big wedge of fresh Mozz!

Old man's fancy--my father was big into growing tomatoes in his later years.  I do not have much of a green thumb, though--I tried growing tomatoes once.  Didn't turn out well.  Homegrown maters beat the heck out of store bought any day of the week.
