Neighbor behind our house just got a Doberman and already has some little sh!t white yapping dog.  Both dogs are kept outside 24/7 in a yard that's maybe 2,000sqft. They bark at EVERYTHING.  Waking me, wife and baby up throughout the night.  Our bedroom window is only about 60 feet from the fence where they yap.

I've spoke to the owner about it and they can't let them in because they tear up the house.  Yard is a mud pit cause it's so small too..

Don't want to kill/shoot/poison them.  Any ideas?  Is there any kind of sonic repellent device worth a crap?

Is there a noise ordinance for your area?

Fuck those people and people like them.

When I was a child we had a rotweiller next door that would do the same. My dad was an almost every night steak eater. After he started throwing his bones over the fence the dog stopped barking at us at least.

My grandpa's method was antifreeze but that's sad.

There are devices that use ultrasound and are triggered by the bark..... I thought about getting one for a neighbors dog, but never did....   dunno how effective they would be, but at least they are legal and less than lethal.

I've been victimized by neighbors barking dogs.  Talked to them, his answer:  "that's what dogs are supposed to do."  Wound up taking him to court with all the other neighbors as witnesses.  I won but it didn't stop all the barking.  Guy was such an asshole.

Open jar of peanut butter, throw over fence.

They will be too busy to yap for a few hours eating it and the diarrhea they leave on their owners carpet later will be epic.

I use bottle rockets to run them off. 90 percent are scared to death of them. Might try one to shut it up!

Buy a burner phone and call them when the dogs bark late at night.  Hang up when they answer.  They'll get tired of what you're having to put up with.

I have a gsd that likes to bark in the evenings I was the guy that worried about it bothering the neighbors so I tried the ultrasonic thing, it didn't work so I got a cheap waterproof bark collar from Amazon I work second shift so I put it on her before I leave for work and the wife takes it off when she brings her inside at night. She won't make a peep when her collar is on and she likes it too wags her tail nonstop when I put it on

I'd talk to the neighbors one last time. Tell them you are done with the barking and they either get rid of the dogs or barking or its police time. Call cops over and over again.  Get video of barking dogs.  GET VIDEO OF THE DOGS BARKING.  LET ME WRITE THAT AGAIN!  GET VIDEO OF THE DOGS BARKING.

This will go to court, all barking dog cases go to court. I work in the courts. They ALL go to court.

Have plenty of video. Be prepared for your neighbor to claim you are on a witch hunt after them.

Oh get video.

Neighbor's yappy rat isn't so yappy now.

She would bark for hours and charge the fence. Neighbor didn't care. After 7 years I'm over it.

Not sure how it works outside but I have a sunbeam ultrasonic egg that works great inside with two yapping Yorkies. It shuts them up instantly.

buy your neighbors two shock collars for dogs barking.  You can set them where it will let the dog bark some but not all night without getting a shock.

Every other Monday is dog court. Every other Monday it's the same shit.

My dog never barks!  They are just mad at me because of the Xmas party 5 years ago!  I asked all the other neighbors and none of them said my dog barks!  My poor whoofy don't derserve this. I'm on a fixed income!

Other dog excuses:

My dog never bit me!

That's not my dog, that's my cousins dog and he's incarcerated.

My dog ever left our yard!

It wasn't my dog!

The sonic devices absolutely work. I've trained the dogs on three separate Section 8 neighbors to shut up ... with one exception. The current neighbor had a pekingese/chihuahua mix that was immune. I assume the dog was crazy.

It eventually dug under the fences once too many times and got lost. My wife swears she saw in around the block at a different home. It was cleaned and groomed and getting loved.

A pox on all you all who leave your dogs outside doing nonsense barking.

Exactly. My neighbor has dogs that bark but it's not constant 24 hr bouts of barking. So it's okay. But I've had neighbors with that constant 24hr barking and it sucks.  It's always a black lab mutt.

so, does dog court work?

i had a neighbor that a dog, it was literally insane, very paranoid and once outside the thing would stand right next door in the driveway part that was fenced in and below my office window (i work out of my house) and would bark non-stop. the neighbor would put the dog out when they went to work. the one good thing about this was, i had a talk with the neighbor who was reasonable and they gave me a key to their house. when the dog went crazy (was especially bad during cold weather) i would go next door and get it into the house which was hard to do as the dog was scared of anything that moved.

a lot of folks get dogs. they get one dog. they work all day so they put the dog out. dogs are pack animals and dont like being alone all the time and the result more often than not is a dog outside barking all day. its a fairly common problem.

i hate noise. i really hate dogs barking all the time. most of my life ive been lucky as the neighbors were reasonable or there were no dogs nearby.

Document and report. Our old neighbor complained about another neighbor's barking dogs and she had to pay a couple thousand in fines. I would not put up with that. Inconsiderate homeowners have dogs who bark. Hit them where they will take notice, in their pocketbook. We have a dog (Boxer) and he isn't left outside where he could possibly annoy the neighbors.

Those old fire extinguishers that have an air value stem on them full of water and about 150 psi in it solved my problem.

Do you have a MFG/Model for the one that worked?  I've tried a few different ones and they don't seem to do anything but eat batteries.  The birdhouse looking models are a joke.
