Told my step son not to install a subwoofer in my wife's brand new Rav 4.
I told him emphatically 4 times not to, including two days before he decided to install said subwoofer anyway. I found out this morning, took it out and smashed it with a sledge and clipped the wires too short to use again. The wife is upset because he cannot return the stuff....... I'm the bad guy.

Another perfectly rational and reasonable response thread.
Without more details you do seem like the bad guy. Are we talking about one of those self contained "subs" that can fit under a seat that doesn't do much more than help the low end a little? Or 2 12" subwoofers with 1000 watt amp? Maybe he thought once you heard it you'd like it. If you were my dad I'd never do another god damn fucking thing for you. If that's how you really act. |

Op is not the bad guy. The boy was told, multiple times not to do what he did. The boy did what he wanted anyhow. This, is the problem with kids these days. They do whatever the fuck they want, and all the pansy ass, snowflake, pussy hat wearing parents out there just say, oh well... I told them not to... And that's the end of it.
Good for you op. You are the authority figure. That's part of your job as dad. Kids need boundaries. And they need to realize that when they cross the line... Their ass is grass. |
| Not cool of you at all. As a parent, when you need to make a point with your kids, you do it in a way that makes them think about what they did, not in a way that makes them hate you. I'm speaking from personal experience here. I hope you change your approach when it comes to these sorts of matters as it's no fun having kids who despise you and don't respect you. Trust me when I say that's a very deep hole to dig yourself out from. |
