Pretty good article here. Search didn't find anything, but I am on mobile. I'm sure the dupe police will be around soon.

It has been posted awhile back. Mlok was much stronger according to LRRP IIRC. I standardized on picatinny and Mlok because of this test. Also, had to laugh, some of the pictures of the attached accessories were picatinny rail chunks. New, meet old.
That said, pic rail requires a heck of a lot more machine work to make than Mlok does. Just thought it was humorous. |

They both have good and bad. Â
Keymod allowed for faster repeatable attachment while M-lok is stronger and more stable once attached. I don't really think that there is a wrong answer here, as long as you pick your devil and accept it. Â I honestly wouldn't be bothered by either, as I think the weight loss over 1913 rails is a bigger benefit from either Keymod or M-lok (I also HATE HATE HATE rails on my hand guard). But yes, for hard-core military use.....mlok seems superior. Â For my uses, I just buy whichever one is cheaper at the time I'm buying the stuff for that build. Â So far, that's been keymod. Â It's worked well for me so far. |

I did too but had no idea of this test. Also, had to laugh, some of the pictures of the attached accessories were picatinny rail chunks. New, meet old.

The entire point of these other systems over 1913 rails is to reduce weight and get rid of the cheese-grater problem of 1913 rails everywhere but still be able to mount stuff anywhere. Â I also appreciate the reduction in effective diameter of the hand guard in comparison to a 1913 hand guard + rail covers. |

There was a thread based of this article I think here and another board I'm on. I think Keymod would suit my needs strength wise but I want to be able to swap accessories from any gun to another so no choice but to standardize. |

So.... you people want the mil to go from having ONE qd system, to having two. Until you don't have to have rail segments on hand, or you can do the qd method on top of an AR receiver, they'd be worse off going to either mlok or keymod. |

but but ounces. you are appealing to the logic of 300 pound land whales that want to shave every ounce off a rifle they will never hump past the 25 yard line of whatever "class" they are taking. Quoted:

I dont get why you find that humorous. All the military will probably use in the begining is 1913 rails attached to mlok to be compatiable with all their 1913 gear. But as another poster noted, it's all about only putting the rail where you want it. I get that. I mean, it's not like I was roflololololing or anything. |
