Saw an ad for an "03 6 speed/Supercharged. Looks to be a real clean, well maintained two owner car. Fun toy, or run away???

I had an '06 Cooper I bought new, no problems.  Parents have an '03 Cooper, no problems other than the initial transmission recall and the power steering pump recall.  Wife has had several, no major problems.  Brother has had a few, no major problems; he currently has a new one he loves.  I currently have an '05 S I just picked up last month with 50k on it; no problems as of yet, it is my daily driver.

Run away. One of my friends has owned 4 mini coopers, in the last 6 years. She never has one more than 2 years old.

My aunt bought a brand new one two years ago.  500 miles later it needed a new engine.  Junk.

Nothing like a Mini Cooper to remind me how "reliable" my MKV GTI has been.

If it has a warranty, fun car. If it doesn't, you're a masochist.
