Fuck no.
Apparently it's stupid easy to cross thread that bit on, and it's a really cheap design. http://www.zelcustom.com/ Get a Spartan Or a Safety Harbor. Edit: Oh just read that Zel is backed up. |

I like to think I will not cross thread the bolt face. And yes it is a CHEAP design, that is the cheif purpose. |

How many rounds have you shot? I like to think I will not cross thread the bolt face. And yes it is a CHEAP design, that is the cheif purpose. Pins kept walking out of it. He eventually sold it. Remember the Watson 50 bmg upper? Had twice as many threads, they were coarser and had a crank handle. Much better design. I have about 35 rounds through my Zel and it hasn't given me a single issue.
Something like this would be both cheap, and half decent to shoot. https://www.ligameccorp.com/raptor_50_p/upr-50.htm But remember, 50 bmg ain't exactly a "budget round". |

My buddy got one. Put less than ten through. After 5 shots of slow fire, it was really difficult to get the breech cap on, even with a wrench. The threads are pretty fine so it was reeeeally easy to cross thread it. Pins kept walking out of it. He eventually sold it. Remember the Watson 50 bmg upper? I would trust a BOHICA before a weird combo break action screw thing. .38 specia killed top break revolvers, I don't trust break actions for something that powerful. |

If he wanted a quality product that would work properly and without defects then he would not be looking for something that is designed to be ...... cheap. |

Why should I not? Because the money "saved" by going cheap on the biggest baddest round most folks will ever be able to shoot will be a drop in the bucket compared to the money you (or your heirs) spend after it blows up on you. A cheapass .22LR may not run well, but it's far less likely to kill or maim you. Don't fuck around and go cheap with .50 BMG. |

lol, How far? 100yds maybe. 200yds At least that's the direction I would take it. Enclosed firing mechanism, easier to fix the trigger or otherwise replace parts, etc. But for the distances involved, it should work just as well as some of the other, vastly more expensive options, and still be a few steps in quality above this Serbu thing, or a Hesse, etc. |

GD is the wrong place for serious inquiries on most any topic - oddly enough there's a very good place to ask just around the corner:
