My wife was there. She said the girl was OK, but her face was beat up pretty bad. The first thing she asked the girl after checking her out was "Must've been flying United"

A Subaru Outback went off Delaware Avenue and appeared to have crashed into trees while airborne at a house at Dixie Lane on Thursday evening.

The car appeared to have been headed south, down the hill on Delaware Avenue, when it went off the left side of the road, hit the lefthand curb, and then apparently went airborne off a small embankment on the side of a driveway. The Outback appeared to have mostly threaded between two trees before hitting a third tree, which had scrape marks about five feet off the ground. The Outback had scrape marks on its passenger side roof, possibly from one of the two trees that it threaded between, authorities said.

She walked out of the car before anybody could get there and they used a wrecker's winch to get it off the tree.

They couldn't prove that she was, but I'm guessing so. She was going at least 55mph on a road that's listed as 30mph I believe. It's a residential road that's slightly down hill, mostly straight with a curve at the intersection, where she wrecked. Only thing I could think of was texting, or reaching for something in the floor board while going waaaay too fast. I'd like to think this minor learned her lesson.
