Probably a mega dupe but I'm sure a few here haven't seen it. Wish I could have been there in person. Enjoy.

I watched it live and in glorious B&W, all 19" (measured diagonally, of course) of it!!

We didn't get our first color TV until 1973, my freshman year in HS.

My dad was on the launch team.  I was there, but only 9 years old and the memory blurs with the other launches (I saw all the Saturn V launches). I do remember watching the moon landing on TV,  then my folks getting us up in the middle of the night to see Armstrong walk on the moon.

Dad is second from the left in the back row.

Very cool video. I'd never seen that before and I'm old enough that I remember watching Alan Shepard launch in Freedom 7.

Those were great days to be an American.

Amazing footage, love that stuff.

Dad worked at the cape when I was a kid in the 60's.

That's not a view you see a lot.

I remember those days (barely). Being taken out of my 1st grade class to the library, where we watched a Mercury liftoff. Was way cool back then!

If you like the old-time space flight history,  you'll enjoy Vintage Space. The young lady who hosts this channel has her stuff together! She puts together some interesting vids about various small parts of the early Space Program. Example: why did the Titan II make a 'bwoop' sound just before launch? (She's easy on the eyes, too!)
