So, Hysteria was huge in the late 80s. You couldn't run the the stations on a radio, without hearing one of their songs. Then grunge happened and I didn't hear them on the radio, no-one discussed the band, it was almost like they never existed. They were musical pariahs.
For some reason, they've been popping up left and right this year. First time I've heard their music in decades, they are coming up in conversations, etc.
Has anyone else noticed this?

It seemed like ELO suffered similar treatment throughout the late 80s, all the way through 2010 or so. Now they are being "rediscovered" by younger generations.

DEF LEPPARD - "Lets Get Rocked" (Official Music Video)

They released this fucking garbage and everyone stopped listening. Def Leppard died.

The wife and I are attending a Def Leppard concert in May. I still like their music.

They're on tour with Poison and Tesla. That's why you're hearing them.

I saw them in '87 or '88.  The drummer (who only had one arm by then) played pretty wild.  It was an awesome show.

Bought the album, the day it was released....the best one they did...still have it. I saw them a bunch into the 80's ans into the 90's

Friend of mine sees them every year (girl).  They're insanely popular still.

Their first couple of albums were decent but they went hair hard and sold out with a vengeance.

I liked them in the 80s, but I was a preteen and didn't know anything about music, lol. They don't stand the test of time. Guns n roses has some songs that still stand out as being excellent. Def Leppard is all 80s crap, like motley crue, tesla, poison, etc.

They were decent. But I like my music a bit heavier.

The first two albums were the best . I saw them on tour in Germany before Pyromania got released . This was the original line up with the original lead singer and a 2 armed drummer . It was a great show . It was a 3-4,000 seat venue

Only album I liked of theirs was On through the night.

Although High and dry was pretty good as well.

Wrong,
Hysteria sucked, that's when they began to write songs solely for 14 year old girls.

High and dry and pyromania are the only def lepord albums worth a shit

They will probably get another bump this summer if they are included in the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 soundtrack.  Already showed up as music for one of the trailers.

Don't get me wrong, I still like the 80's music I liked it the 80's, I just never cared for DL.
I'm a few yrs older than you, but was never a Poison fan, didn't think too much of Motley Crue, though I do enjoy their stuff a bit more now. I always considered Tesla a cut above your average hair band. Going to concerts back than was a really good time.

Saw them in 1983 on the Pyromania Tour.  It was a decent show but not as good as I expected.

I loved the music till Adrenalized came out.  I only liked Adrenalized, really disliked everything after that.

ETA: I did really like RETRO ACTIVE.

They have some good stuff.  Most radio stations choose to overplay a few songs of theirs and turn people off to them.

I've hear PSSOM about 10000 time on the radio and Photograph maybe about 10 times.

Wow, that's quite a newsflash!  I didn't know that.

DL is my favorite band.  First four albums ROCKED, Adrenalize was decent.  As soon as they picked up Viv, they went into the shitter.

My kids grew up listening to them on many road trips.  To this day, if I put DL on in the car, it puts all three of them to sleep.

My daughter loves DL, too.  For her sweet 16 I bought her two tickets to Kiss and DL.  She actually wanted to me to take her.  That was one of the best nights of my life.  Quality time with my little girl.

But we forgot the ear plugs.

I never bought any of their music, but I wouldn't turn it off when it came on the radio. Years ago, they played the big venue we have here and I got free tix. I was very glad I went, it was a blast.

I'd go see them again.

I liked Pyromania and the albums before it. Hysteria was a good album, but was so overplayed that I got tired of hearing it for many years. Same thing happens with many acts once they put out the big commercial hit album.

Favorite band as a child in the late 80s.  Would love to see them in concert but now it seems every band I like only comes to Charlotte for the stupid Carolina Rebellion festival.

I got to see Avenged Sevenfold when they played the Uproar Concert (awesome show) at the amphitheater but that's the last show I went to cause I'm not standing in the middle of a field with a bunch of smelly shitheads.

Maybe if they joined the 21st century and licensed their music to the digital subscription services they would get even more exposure and possibly make an even better living.

The Beatles, The Eagles and even that band with the motor mouthed drummer have licensed their music to the digital services.

Everything after Pyromania sucked horribly.

I remember the build up to their next album after Pyromania and after Rick Allen's arm getting cut off.  It was a HUGE let down when Hysteria finally hit

My sentiments exactly.  Wish they would have made a heavier, darker album in later years for adults that were kids when they were at their peak.

They were a great band back in the day. I always felt that as musicians, they were pretty hard to beat and master of the craft.
