| Bought a Shark Rotator vacuum based on GD recommendations. This thing sucks ass, definitely returning it. Gimme something else to try... |
|
I believe there are several different models in the Rotator family...
I have the Powered Lift Away model....I believe it is/was the top of the line. It used to be $350, but I got it on sale for $199 at Costco. That thing could suck start a Harley...has useful features, filters are cheap, etc. Its the best vacuum I've ever had, so I really don't know what else to recommend. |

Sharks are cheap pieces of engineered to fail crap. Her Shark kicks the shit out of those other vacuums at about 1/3 the cost. This one has lasted two years cleaning 3 houses a week and is still going strong. |

Maybe it's a operator problem..... Do you have it plugged in, and turned on? |

After owning both Dyson and Shark I can say with certainty that you get exactly what you pay for.
The shark vacuums do have good suction. They are also narrow and require more work to vacuum a house, are top heavy and tip over easily when using the wand, have a short cord, attachments are cheap and poorly designed, and the rotating brush is much more of a PITA to clean of hair when it is full. If you are down with all that then by all means Shark is your brand. I would never recommend them to anyone. |

You're supposed to use it on carpet. ETA: Do you have the thing set up correctly? Is the switch on the handle set to carpet or hard floor? The Shark I have kicks the shit out of the Dyson I had. Attached File |

My Shark is awesome. Have had it going on three years now and it has been great. |

My house is all hardwood & tile except for a few scattered area rugs. This is the only switch I know of for floor types: https://www.AR15.Com/media/mediaFiles/108967/IMG-7139-168601.JPG |

I know that on my mine there's a doodad that you slide to adjust the vacuum (suction) power, and if it's not closed, it doesn't work real well on carpet. |

You have a different model than mine, so I don't know what to tell you other than go to their webpage, find your model, and look at the support page. My guess is that you've got something set wrong. I could vacuum a 5 gallon pail full of nuts and washers into that beast problem free |

I have a Dyson V8 Animal ($400.00 at Costco). It's been pretty good for a cordless. 3000 sq ft is a bit much for it but we typically only do a few rooms at a time anyway so rarely run out of juice.
Cleans surprisingly well and better than our Hoover was doing. Mostly using it on laminate and I'm hoping it lasts longer than the last 3 dirt devel things we've had. |
