Borrowed dad's ppk. Nazi markings on it so it's old. Was fingering it (not firing) and was working fine until it wasn't. Hammer would move but wouldn't lock back. Wouldn't with the trigger or thumbing it back. Took the Grips off and everything looked normal. Finally got the hammer to lock and took the slide off. This pin fell out. I inspected the slide and all looks normal there. Pin looks to be brass and maybe with ribs on it. Even see some wear marks. End looks broken off. Any ideas on where it came from?

Does it have a hole above the hammer as you look at the rear?
There is a loaded chamber indicator that was brass, in some. Earl's Walther Repair in Tewksbury, MA is the only German authorized Walther repair state-side. He only works on German Walthers--he's fixed a couple of mine. ETA: it's on the slide, above the top of the hammer. |

Does the safety still work? Sounds crazy but I think the pin might be foreign. My dad is a gunsmith and is bad about being messy. Crazy but it could just be some crap that fell into the gun somehow |
