| Any recommendations for an ultrasonic cleaner that can do multiple shotgun barrels at once? I work at a gun club that runs corporate events and we are planning on purchasing 30 Beretta A300's that will need to be cleaned in bulk after the events. Ideally we need something that can do 5+ barrels at a time, plus bolts and gas system parts. Have a few I was looking at but I figure someone must be using one for a similar application and have some experience. |

This is a 1400 watt machine. You want as much wattage as you can get as wattage equals scrubbing power so to speak. Based on my experience in both the jewelry and gun industries, might I suggest a little different approach. Buy the best most powerful cleaner for the receivers, bolts, and small parts. As for the barrels, get yourself a Habor Freight PARTS WASHER and fill it with Simply Green or your preferred degreaser/cleaner. Many choices are out there. Make sure you have access to an air gun to help with drying stuff. You will not really be able to just toss everything in to a UC, let it sit for a while and then just rinse and reassemble. (That is unless someone has come along recently with a much more capable machine than I have seen of late). Build yourself some gauge appropriate bore mops that can be re-used. Set your self up an assembly line type of routine of dis-assembly/ cleaning, and re-assembly. Your chore will be a lot easier that way. AMA. I'll help any way I can. |
| While I've not used it for guns, I've got an L&R that I'm very happy with. L&R Ultrasonics |
| Anyone have expiance with the Lyman cleaners? L&R looked great but I think I'm gonna have a hard time getting board approval on anything over $1500. I'm considering not doing barrels, by only concern is the beretta guns have part of the gas system threaded to the barrel that's a bitch to remove. |
