It has been my impression that all this all this application did was copy all of your files, documents, photos and whatever else is on your PC and saves to a cloud. Being that I really do not feel like having anything on a cloud, I uninstalled it.
This evening I am searching for an old email on yahoo and along my way I find some old photos of my kids from a few years ago and I want to save them to my laptop. I try to save them and I get an error message basically telling me that the computer couldn't find OneNote. WTF? I don't understand why I cannot just right click these photos from the email without having this intrusive fucking software storing all of my shit on a cloud. |

I had this email 10+ years and I want everything off of it. Any pics of my kids I'm trying to save to my laptop and eventually also my external hard drive. Quoted:

Mine doesn't do that. But then I'm not using that fucked up MS Outlook crap for my e-mail. I had this email 10+ years and I want everything off of it. Any pics of my kids I'm trying to save to my laptop and eventually also my external hard drive. |

I'm confused. Is your question about OneDrive or OneNote? Either way, the picture link in the Yahoo email is pointing to a resource it can't find. OneDrive and no I tried that and the error message pops up. Edit: If MS did this so that I have to keep OneDrive on my computer, I'll just save them on my girlfriend's MacBook. |

You might want to check the default where One Drive is storing files.

I use it for documents and PDF Files. Works great can pull them up where ever I am on what ever device I want to. I like onedrive for this^^ and I have it on my phone too, super to be able to find all pics and docs in one place. onenote is another thing altogether and I like it too for the same reasons |

I have to say this Windows 10 crap is really turned me off to microsoft. |

I use both one drive (now called sky drive) and one note.
For one drive, you just save your shit to the cloud. I don't want everything saved there so I have no syncs or default saving set up. I save my stuff to one drive, the do a "save as" to my device, just in case I cannot access the web. I don't know why you would delete it from your computer, but you can access one drive from any computer and sign n. This could be risky if you don't know how secure it is but it can be done. You just sign in with your windows account. I wonder if you were clicking on a non-existent shortcut? One note is something else. It's a cloud based "notebook". I save my bill receipts to it. |

The OneDrive was not only an annoyance I also felt that it was just something that I just didn't need or want on the laptop. This laptop, I use it for mostly college classwork and every damn time I go to save a Word or Excel document it just by default would save it to OneDrive and I would have to scroll arournd to find "This PC". |

Please for the love of all that is holy ditch Yahoo mail.
If you are concerned about saving stuff on the cloud that is fine but Yahoo mail is the absolute worst and least secure mail service around. You should be able to right click on the photo in Yahoo mail and save it directly to any folder on your PC with out One drive. You are mote likely being prompted to open the photos in One note due to it being set as you default viewer for photos. You can change that by right clicking a photo currently on your computer and going to open with. From there you will see a menu to set the defaults. |

You need to remove onedrive from the "browse" settings in word and excel. Also turn off saving to onedrive in the onedrive settings and the office onedrive save in the onedrive settings. It's super annoying. It even turned itself back on once.

Two of my four classes I'm currently taking are IT classes and one in person and the other online and I think we have an upcoming assignment involving that program. But yes, if I have to reinstall it I'll set those settings. |
