Some people EDC more shit than a light infantryman in Kunar Province.
Some people EDC more expensive shit than Thomas Crown. Unlike 87% of ARFCOM, I'm not a multimillionaire. Here's my sensible EDC: Attached File LBT 3 Day Pack- I grabbed it when it was on sale for like $89. Essentially my gym bag: running shoes, shorts, a t-shirt, bluetooth headphones, post-workout powder, and the like is in here. UnderArmour Igniter polarized sun glasses- I lose and break sunglasses too often to spend big $ on sunglasses. I think I got these for like $65 and they're polarized. Kershaw Ken Onion Blur- $34 Amazon buy via the GD Buyers Club. Ralph Lauren wallet- I don't know how much it cost or any more about it. Long story short, my old wallet was perfectly functional but someone drew a dick on the inside of it during my third deployment so my wife decided I needed a new one. The dick was on the inside so I didn't really see the point of spending the money on a new wallet. My wife got me the wallet the next Christmas after she saw I wasn't going to buy a new wallet. Timex Expedition Scout- $35, Crown and Buckle Premium NATO strap. I rock the woodland camo one on the weekends, including Fridays. Mon-Thurs I pair it with a Crown and Buckle band that matches the business or business casual threads of the day. One of my best friends owns one of the best fine watch concierge places in a major metro area. He rocks Rolex Subs, or occasionally a Breitling Navitimer or Girard Perregaux or something else that he carries in his store. Even if I could bring myself to ask for a "deal" from him on a Rolex Sub or something like that I'd rather spend $4-5K on gun stuff. #ohwell Surefire G2X- On closeout for like $40 at Quantico Tactical or a PX somewhere. Shit works well and at that price there is no reason not to buy it. Samsung Galaxy SWhatever- The shit lets me call, text, stream Spotify or Pandora to my headphones while I am working out and cruise ARFCOM or Instagram while I am taking a shit. Boom. Smith and Wesson Shield Performance Center- I traded in my non Performance Center Shield for this. I had a gift cerrtificate to the LGS and they gave me a fair deal on the trade in. With the right ammo, the ported barrel isn't an issue if shooting immediately after rocking and locking. Which brings me to Remington Golden Bullets- I guess I only paid tax on these after the Remington Rebate last year. Anyways, all the props in the world to the guys who EDC defibrillators, a BUBUG with 3 reloads, a GSM cell, SAT phone, and ICOM. That shit isn't for me. When one of you multimillionaires share some of your money with me I'll EDC a Colt Delta Elite, a different Rolex Yacht-master for every day of the week, and some knife made out of Rhenium with a unicorn bone handle. I doubt that will every happen, so this is my sensible EDC. While I could easily spend more money on some of these items, I don't see how much functionality it would add. Just like why I wouldn't buy a new wallet or why I will likely never bring myself to spend thousands of dollars on a watch when I would rather buy gun or NV stuff or go on a trip somewhere with my family. I can't be the only person this frugal on ARFCOM. |

If that 9c has an Apex you doin' good...if not...chump!

No idea. My bag is still set for when I was doing 12.5 hour overnight shifts and frequently leaving late. I have a All Hazards Prime bag. Big sections have work stuff in it. Little section has a small pharmacy, knife, multitool, flashlight, pens, and pencils.
New York so our criminals give a 3 day notice before being raped robbed assaulted or murdered. So if that happens I guess I will rock my G34. |

Oh come on, this is arfcom GD. You need to at least 8 ways to make fire, 300 rounds of ammo, a water purifier, 9 miles of paracord, 3 days worth of food, a tent, sleeping bag, emergency blanket, 10 knives, an ax, a saw, a back up gun, 300 rounds for the back up gun, $500.00 in silver coins, a fishing kit, animal traps, boobie traps, a portable ham radio, body armor. Then don't forget you need at least two of each of these things in your Get Home Bag. Its the only way to be sure you can get home to retrieve your bug out bag so you can make it safely to you bunker where you keep your real supplies stashed!

Don't like the "steal me" backpack. A boring REI pack without molle would be less conspicuous. They'd steal my gym clothes, and it's usually not visible when I'm not carrying it. I used to use a Kelty but as much as I tired to like it I was too tough on it. The bottle pockets on the sides were shredded and I broke hardware on the waist belt. Maybe the LBT 3 day slick with no MOLLE would be better tho. |

Do you like the performance shield opie? Do you notice more muzzle flash while shooting? Does it help reduce recoil? Yes I like it. The only real negative I have with the ported barrel is that after 100-150 rounds of a dirty ammo like WWB the front fiber optic sight gets so dirty that it's no longer a high vis sight. The Performance Center trigger is better than the regular trigger and with a good defense load there isn't any more muzzle flash or skin burns because if the ported barrel. Because of the grip I can get on a Shield I never thought the recoil was a problem but there's almost no noticeable muzzle flip with the ported barrel. I wish they would have put the front slide serrations the Shield .45 or M&P M2.0 have on the Performance Center slides. |

I'm not carrying a backpack around everywhere I go. This stuff is lightweight enough that it actually gets carried every day. http://i539.photobucket.com/albums/ff351/basp2005/Mobile%20Uploads/20161027_152158_zpsyrvin3k6.jpg The backpack is carried from my front door to my vehicle in the driveway, driven to work, left in my vehicle, then carried from my vehicle to the locker room at the gym to change clothes. I'm not walking into a meeting with a customer with a 3 day pack on, although one coworker of mine does that with his GoRuck pack but programmers can get away with that. |

Is that a damn life alert? Yeah I guess it does look like a life alert. That's my Phonak Com Pilot. It controls my hearing aids (Phonak Virto Q's Q70) and interfaces with anything bluetooth as well. https://www.phonak.com/us/en/hearing-aids/accessories/phonak-com-pilot.html |
