Need to replace the family printer the family uses.  Not looking for anything fancy, super fast, etc, just a basic color printer that is network ready.

Suggestions?

Whatever you get, get a laser.

I got a Brother Laser Printer as I don't print color enough and the ink just dries up. Plus toner for laser printer is so much cheaper than ink. Printer has both wifi and ethernet port.

Same here I was tired of having to do cleaning cycles when I printed.  Plus wanted a wireless printer.  I ended up with the Brother MFC-9340CDW.  It is probably more printer than the OP wants to by but I have been very happy with it.  Look at some of the cheaper brother printers.

Color laser

I bought a Dell business color laser ten years ago and it is still working great. 4000 page toners are fantastic

I've recently converted from inkjet to laser.  The problem is, the laser printers come with very low capacity toner cartridges, so you'll need to replace toner relatively quickly.

I have a Samsung M2070 black and white printer.
Also have an HP Laserjet M451nw color laser printer.
Both are recent purchases, happy with both.

Only complaint is that I should've gotten the M451dn, which has automatic duplex printing.

I tried buying the "el cheapo" printer cartridges.  Several different brands.  They all suck - streaks, marks, lines, etc.  I finally bit the bullet and bought a set of HP high-capacity toner cartridges.  Cost as much as the damn printer itself, but the quality is worth it.  Also, they last a hell of a lot longer.  I just printed like 100 pages of color-intense sheets, and the toner level still shows full for all four cartridges.

Bought a Brother MFC in '11.  Used it a great deal for 2 years for my ultimately failed business and now use it at home.

Best copier ever.  Laser.

Got a samsung color laser printer about a year and a half ago, no regrets wish i had dumped the inkjets sooner.

Brother all-in-one laser printers are reasonably inexpensive, rugged and relible, and have the lowest cost per page of any of the small sized printers.

You can order high capacity toner cartridges online for about half of what the big box stores charge.
