Pretty cool video, mainly just shows the tomahawk impacting it's target from different views. Check out the pigeons at 2:30

That missile hit high. I'm guessing on purpose to reuse the ship?

Based on how the cameras were set up it seems like they hit where they were aiming.

I used to have a video game where you chased a cruise missile in a jet and had to shoot them down. I thought it was just video game stuff.

This makes me wonder if its possible.

You can put whatever warhead you want on it.

You want shape charge with thermobaric follow-on?

You want submunitions?

You want hull penetrator with HE?

Imagine that blasting through the ship's hull and through the fuel cells, for example.

IIRC spitfire pilots would nudge V-1's off course with their wingtips. I have always assumed they would use their wingtip to lift the missile's wingtip and roll the thing until its gyro hit a hard stop. It's always seemed a risky maneuver but the things presented a small target and I suspect ammunition was precious at that point in the war. Too bad there were no smart phones back then, can you imagine some of the footage we would have?

Why didn't the F-18 shoot the missle down?     He could have saved the ship.

They still had cameras on every aircraft, otherwise every pilot would claim they shot down Hitler.

That's actually not a terrible representation of a modern vessel. There is zero hope of armoring a ship against a modern AShM anyway.

I have to wonder if the pigeons were on the platform when the towed it out. I never thought of pigeons as being pelagic birds...

I liked the angle right before the pigeon entanglement.
