I'm finally a 1911 owner again. My mom bought me a Springfield mil spec back when I was 16. When I got my carry permit at 21 I carried it, then a stainless loaded champion. Then SIG's, Glocks, and Berettas. I think it's been 5-6 years since I've owned a 1911.
Finally found one I couldn't pass up here on the EE. I got it today and cleaned and greased it up. The trigger/reset was phenomenal and every seemed to fit very well. I fired 300 rounds without a hitch which was nice. The gun came with 4 Wilson 7 round mags and 1 7 round Springfield mag and I had 4 CMC powermags and they all worked. All in all I am very happy. I sold a couple guns to pay for it and have no regrets. Attached File |

Congratulations. I really like Springfield 1911s. Sounds like it runs fine, but did you try it with the GI recoil spring yet? And what weight is it (the spring)? Never heard of a GI recoil spring. The loaded normally comes with a full length guide rod. This gun is used and the owner had put in the standard GI style one. I'm not sure of the weight. |

Your Ka-Bar in the pic reminded me I had a few 1911 pics with Ka-Bars. Nice I carried a champion just like yours but with different grips. This gun came with pachymer wrap around grips but I like the right grip to cover the plunger tube. I've also always loved ivory grips. These are VZ but they look pretty good and we're $40. |
