As a "pro hunting" guy, I would have never taken a picture of a kid holding a bird by the neck while it dies. Obviously killing it instantly doesn't always happen, but it should have been put down. If I'm missing something, I'm sorry.
Damn I want duck now edit: I cant even tell if it's real or fake |

Nice. What's the bag limit there? I miss good waterfowl hunting. Private property, stocked with mallards purchased by the owner. No idea what the limit was in that situation. I think it's five for the geese. For several years I helped an owner of a game farm kill all his released mallards the last day of each season. One year we shot 300 between the two of us in about four hours. |

That sounds like about 200 over a legal limit of 7 ducks each for 12 people. Nope, a bit more as the legal possession limit is 6 birds. Tell me this is a slip of the finger, please. In Yeah, either this is going to be an education or a trainwreck. ETA Stocked migratory game. I had no idea there was such a thing. |

You could have just said you don't know anything about released mallards. |

Gave it to the boy, who promptly took care of it. |

Stocked ducks, whoda thunk it
I've shot pen raised ducks before - I got volunteered to a be a 'shooter' for the local retriever club once or twice for some field trials. It sucked. Don't care to do that again. The little buggers didn't even know how to fly, some we hand threw in the air for one of the other shooters to shoot, some were launched with a special bird launcher. |

It's how it works. Dogs and guides work the ducks all day to make them behave more "wild". |

Flight trained birds behave very closely to a wild bird. Pen raised birds are cheap, flight trained birds are not. |

The vegan has spoken. lol "Hunting' on stocked land is for uber fudds. Who fucking cares? I've never paid for it, but I won't knock anyone that has. It's certainly worlds better than sitting on your ass watching NASCAR. Now finish your tofu and have a glass of soy milk. |

Got a recipe for the sauce? Pan seared a half-dozen wood ducks last week and made a raspberry reduction that looked very similar. It was outstanding. Attached File I sauté diced jalapeño and blueberries. Throw in some thyme and a bunch of balsamic and reduce. Great on venison. |
