Hey guys, need some suggestions.   I just built a work bench in my house for reloading, working on ARs, 1911's, etc.  I installed LED lighting under the top and bottom shelves that light up the bench pretty well.  However, working on my 1911's I found I needed more light.  Something like a swing arm light or something similar where I can direct the light better.   Any of ya'll already have something like this?

Yes, something similar to those as long as it doesn't put out much heat.

These are LED's. Little to no heat and extremely low energy consumption.

Thanks, yes this was pretty much what I had in mind, something that throw a wider range of light vs a spot style light.

As you can probably tell from the label, those are truck dock trailer interior lights. They usually mount inside beside a truck dock rollup door. The light and arm is swung around pointing into the freight trailer, so the fork lift operator can see what he is doing when he is loading/unloading the freight trailer. There may be other sources, but the rollup up door and dock equipment vendors and distributors sell them. I have no idea what they cost but I doubt that they are cheap.

You are absolutely correct. They are designed to hold up to industrial traffic and high impact. They are also designed for maximum efficiency (max light, minimum energy consumption).
Retail from a distributor is about $500 for each.
I'm not a distributor, though. I just have a few brand new ones that were left over from a construction project.

Just installed this last night over my soon to be reloading bench. Lights up bright and plug/play.

And if you are getting up in years the ones with a large magnifier lens are great.

LED on some of them instead of the old circline fluorescent bulb.

LEDs come on even in an unheated garage.

I really want one of the bench mounted magnifying glasses with lights around it. My eyes aren't even that bad, but messing around with tiny gun parts can be a pain.

Not light related, but a random suggestion.  My bench is almost identical to yours, and the best change I made was to lay cheap sticky-backed vinyl tiles on the main working area.  Looks better than it did and clean up is so much easier.

Watching this for light suggestions, too.
