I am wanting to buy a S&W 627PC, with the 2.6" Barrel. I know a few years ago there QC was not the best. I wondering if the QC has gotten any better. I am wondering if I am safe to buy one blind online or is it best to buy and inspect in person. If the QC is still bad, what do you look for?

Unless you REALLY want a short barreled ear ringer...........might want to consider a 6" or longer.     Personally I prefer the old ones without a lock and just a shroud around a barrel tube.

Good luck either way.

Can't speak for quality control. but very happy with customer service.  I bought a 357  six-inch combat,  from my garden. a while back for $150 .  Took it to the range

the first round didn't hit the paper. and the barrel landed low to the right.  Pick up the pieces. called Smith & Wesson they sent the label.

And two weeks later it came back like brand-new. all shiny and has  gotten three hogs since then.
