Ordered a CMMG 22 upper from LAPG and it arrived after 4 weeks in a shitty box with a smashed polymer charging handle.  They want me to return the whole upper and then order me a new one.  What would you do?  I don't think anything else is broken, and I have another charging handle.  I'm thinking I'd rather have them refund me $20 and I'll be on my way.

Will they give a partial refund?
If they have any sense they would with the shipping costs and all. I would go that route.

Also a polymer charging handle sounds retarded. Why?

return it

Return it. If it took enough impact to do that imagine what you might not have found yet.

Those uppers are junk in my opinion.

Yeah, it came with their "anti-jam" charging handle.

I Have 2 CMMG 22LR uppers with polymer charging handles and they run great.
1 upper has right at 5000 rounds through it and it runs awsesome.
Call CMMG and ask about the charging handle, I bet they take care of you.
They did have a run of poly CH's that had some problems a while back IIRC.

They should make polymer barrels too.

Pretty sure I saw a polymer ch in the ee, I would just go that route unless they're providing free shipping both ways.

Contact CMMG. They have a lifetime warranty on all their stuff

They don't have the same channel as a regular handle to help with I believe casings from getting jammed in it

Yes, so the .22 cases don't get stuck. Won't work in a standard upper because there is no hole for the gas tube.

Tough call OP, if your package got smashed enough to break the CH it might have received additional damage during shipping.

THIS, I understand you just want to get your weapon functional, but they are trying to make sure you only have to do it once.  I would set and grumble while I sent it back to make sure it was "right" when I got it.

Is it worth putting 100-200 rounds through it tomorrow?

not if you want to return it.

I'd keep it and just deal with cmmg directly.
Shoot the 100 or 200 rounds to function test before contacting them for the charging handle

LAPG contacted CMMG and CMMG told me to give them my contact information to send me a new charging handle.  Went to the range and the upper worked flawlessly!
