So... I had the slide on my Sig Mosquito break yesterday at the range. I purchased it new back in 2006. Not sure of the round count but when I called Sog today to inquire about getting it replaced I was pleasantly surprised! The gentleman that I spoke with said that they would replace it under warranty since I was the original owner, all I had to cover was shipping which is $55.00.
I know that no one likes the mosquito but it has been a great pistol for me. Again, very happy with their customer service!! |
| You had better luck than me. A few years ago I bought a Sig 716, and being an AR guy I always like to have spare parts around to fix my guns if they break, I called sig to try to get some spares of the proprietary parts that were not standard AR parts for backups, I was told there were none available. I have yet to get spare parts for that gun. |

Essentially the finish on mine was wearing off in non friction areas rapidly. Contacted them, they had me send it in and replaced my original 'Extreame' with a new Rosewood model and threw in two extended mags for my trouble. That 938 has been absolutely flawless but my wife has adopted it as her CCW weapon. Might have to pick up a SAS model for BUG carry in the summer. |

My only experience with them was bad....two returns on a non-running 239, both times shipping was on me, neither times did they sort it out. First time claimed it was running fine at factory (horseshit, wouldn't run in a ransom rest with any ammo I tried, probably 20 different factory loads). Second time claimed the magazine was the issue (also bullshit, I tried 3 mags, plus my friend's 4 mags, didn't matter). Funny part? The magazine they sent me as a replacement would only hold 7 rounds (8 round mag). Took it apart and it had a noticeably heavier spring which wouldn't compress to allow 8 rounds, and it didn't work any better than any other mag. Oy.
My LGS took it back, confident they could get it going again. Their GS was sure the slide had a machining problem. I didn't see it, but that's what they were going with. I got credit for price paid and bought a K9 Elite that was a great little runner. Last Sig I ever rolled the dice on. |

In my mind good customer service would be simply shipping you a new slide, free of charge. Sig Sauer knows that's a defect, cracked/broken slides on that handgun are very common. +1 Smith sent me a new set of grips for a Model 41 that cracked (target grips) free of charge, no hassle, after an email request wondering where I could replace them. THAT's CS. |

I only have one SIG (transition P250C in 9mm). My CS experience was not awesome. I bought a couple of early mags to go with my pistol -- they were both 16-round models. At some point, they decided that wasn't viable and increased the length of the spring and changed the follower and started calling them 15-round magazines. There were a few threads about it at the time on their site and some other places. I called in wanting a couple of the new, longer springs (because the short-springed mags were having feeding issues). No dice. They deleted the threads in question and posted a statement that only 100 such magazines were in the wild and all had been taken care of. If only 100 existed, it's amazing that I had two. Less amazing that mine weren't taken care of.
I eventually found some very similar HK springs that seem to have my issue sorted (for the most part). |

Sig has always been great. They know how customer service works Nope. Their CS used to suck ass. I also had a Mosquito replaced. It was a fucked slide and bulged barrel. About $135. Things went smoothly. Remington paid for it. Back in the early release days of the GSR and the Mosquito, Sig CS was horrid. They completely abandoned P220 and P226 owners. Your gun broke, you have a nice rock. I am sure others here remember this. Mosquito slides are made of chinese aluminum cans and failure. Lots of them break. I always tell anyone that has one to keep the box handy. I bet OP's slide broke about 3/4 inch behind the muzzle. |
