I have had a headache since Sunday. It was minor then but tuesday it got worse. Wensday was better and then I started hurting into my neck and shoulder. Thursday was about the same and yesterday I felt alot better until I lifted about 30 pounds. Now my head is sore to the touch, my left eye feels like it has a cinderblock on it and the socket is sore all around. This morning I woke up with my teeth hurting on the left side, coughing and head slightly had let up but went full blown again. Ive been freezing and burning up too. Started reading and it seems like all of the symptoms point to a migraine. Ive been taking benedryl because I thought it was a sinus infection. I take 2 tylenol and it seems to help my head but when I stand up or something I feel like im going to head over. Left side of my nose feels like ive been hit with a baseball bat.
Anyone have experience with migraines? What should I do? Rest for a few more days? Before you post go to the er, I dont have insurance right now |

Before you post go to the er, I dont have insurance right now Take excedrin migraine, drink a gatorade and rest a little. If it was a migraine due to allergic reaction it might last two days. Based on my migraines, i would be getting concerned with the length of time it's persisting. |

That's probably what set it off. |

BTW, even without insurance you can go to a walk-in clinic for under $100 (usually for $50-$75). Definitely worth the $, especially if you have an infection involved (which in my opinion it sounds like you do...at least according to your description; either a wicked sinus infection or a dental abscess, etc.). Either way, nothing to play around with and well worth the money spent.
EDIT: Check your blood sugar level. One of the earliest symptoms of hyperglycemia can be a bad headache. |

If your still fucked up tomorrow you should seriously consider going to the doctor in case it is something worse. |
| It is not unusual for migraine sufferers to report typical symptoms of up to seven days or more. But you're indicating some serious pain which really hasn't subsided despite consuming OTC medication. Be aware however, that if you seek medical treatment, the physicians may order MRI or CT scans for your dome piece, which may or may not involve radioactive dye inside your veins. Not trying to scare you, just preparing you. |

I've been dealing with migraine for 10 years. Never had my teeth hurt though. May be sinus related. How old are you?
ETA: if it were me I'd take a Mucinex D. D is for decongestant. Drink lots of water to clean that sinus out. Again, that's what I would do - and have done before. |
|
I've been dealing with migraines for over 30 years.
I would bet you are clinching or grinding your teeth real bad at night. I do this exact same thing. If I wake up with a migraine, 99% of the time it is either from grinding/clinching in my sleep or from a storm or rain front blowing in. How has the weather been where you are since Sunday? Weather usually is the biggest cause of an ongoing migraine for me. Like having one that never totally goes away or goes away and rebounds several times. Regardless, migraines have a ton of different symptoms from person to person. I would advise you to go see a Dr. If for no other reason than to get some migraine specific medication to treat it if you don't already have that. The Triptian class of drugs have been a no shit life savor for me. I honestly do not know what I would do w/o them. I remember the pre-triptian days and it was pretty much go to bed and deal with hell until it passes. |

What happened on Saturday, that might contribute to or have precipitated this? Doesn't sound like a migraine to me, but I don't practice medicine. Bank took $400 out of my account "forcefully" for an account I set payments up on. Said tough luck Electric bill for my small business came in. $700 for a 700sq ft building Rear end is going out in my truck |

If you're at a week, I would strongly encourage medical intervention. If you have a tumor creating pressure, hours matter more than you know. |

See my updated post above. I think you need a good decongestant. The teeth grinding sounds plausible too. I think you can get a mouth piece for it at some pharmacies OTC. I saw. I have been taking benedryl. Will probably go to dr monday if it dont let up and get a shot and get it over with. Not sure on the teeth grinding. I think it may be were i have been sleeping on the side that hurts. But I did think about that when I woke up this morning. This is the only day my teeth have been sore |
| OP I suffered from migraines for a couple of years after I was rear ended, the only thing that helped my migraines were imitrex and topomax . If you have went more than a day with a migraine you might want to consider going to the doc. Migraines are no joke , I feel for you if you are suffering from them . |

Everyone seems to be getting sick in this area since I think about it. The weather has been hot cold hot cold and so on |

It may be making things worse. But, I'm an engineer and not an MD so see a doc. Just be damn glad you are t married. You think headaches are bad! I trade my wife right now for a 10 day migraine without drugs. |

It can help until you can get to a Dr. When you go to the Dr ask him for a trial muscle relaxer. If you take that before you go to bed and wake up headache free, there you go.... If you have a wife, girlfriend, boyfriend,...j/k, ask them if they hear you grinding your teeth. I would bet the farm that is your problem. |

It depends on how pissed off she is, or how long she wants to withhold sex.
Oh, I'm sorry, you were talking about an actual migraine? It depends. On what? Fuck knows. Pop some ranger candy, drink a lot of water, change your socks, turn down the lights, put in your earplugs, lay a chilled gel pack on your forehead and take a nap. ETA: Poster above me has it right, put in a mouth guard, too. Have someone tap your cheekbones and your forehead, right above your eyebrows. If it makes you want to punch them square in the dick, you may have a sinus infection. |

The wife has been getting migraines for years. She was taking OTC till she married me and got good insurance. According to her Excedrin Migraine works ok on her lesser episodes. Essentially it's a Tylenol with caffeine added to it. The caffeine acts on the blood vessels in the brain as a migraine is usually due to a change in blood flow to the brain.
She has been on Imitrex, and is now on Maxalt for her bad days. But since you say you have no insurance see if a Dr. can give you a sample, because the wife's script is $275.00 for 8 pills in generic before insurance. |

I am actually friends with a lawyer that suffers from migraines & headaches. Sometimes she takes them for a month at a time. They give her some kind of shot that helps but she goes straight home to bed when she gets the shot. Tranquilizer maybe? This is the first time I have been sick this year with sinuses or whatever, generally I get sick once a year and it hits full force. Back in June I had a stomach virus. I would take that again over this. |

2 yrs. ago I was struck with a DEBILITATING headache; I was unable to even function beyond a basic-level. Any sort of physical activity, bending forward, quick head movement or getting up quickly would start the worst immediate-pounding headache you can imagine; a 10 out of 10. Many times I would have to quickly kneel to get the pounding to diminish (which it would). I would then have to stand very, very slowly to not encourage the pounding. I don't suffer from headaches and was baffled. I went to the Dr. and had a lot of tests done; all came back negative.
After 2 months it went away, but briefly re-surfaced at 50% intensity about a month after it ended, but only sporadically. I happened to mention what happened to me at a Halloween party and the homeowner (a male, about my age) had the same exact thing happen to him at the same time. He lives in the same town as me. He was traveling to AZ when it occurred and he ended up in the hospital because of it. Like with me, his symptoms suddenly went away and then re-appeared at a reduced strength. Looking back I think it was a virus that just had that nasty effect. Bad headaches that are crippling are one of the worst things you can have. They SUCK. |
