I made chili for the family tonight, it was awesome.

I'm not going into the details of the recipe, I'm not disclosing if it had beans or not and I'm not posting a picture of my wife.  

This thread is not really about the chili, it's about what you drink with your chili.

The obvious answer is beer and I agree, a nice cold beer does a great bowl of chili justice. 

But as much as I like beer, my go-to beverage when I eat chili is an ice cold glass of milk. Milk seems to be the perfect compliment to the spices and flavors of the chili.

My wife thinks I'm crazy.

Am I?

I have found the best drink for chili (and chili has beans) is a cold glass of ice water. It really lets the flavor of the chili to come thru and not drowned out by the flavor of the drink.

Afterwards a very cold glass of Barber's eggnog tops off a great evening!
