So we've had a computer on its last legs for a while. Wife installed a cloud backup a couple years ago. (CrashPlan). I never gave it two glances.
Fast forward to today. Old computer finally dies. I bought a new laptop. Installed CrashPlan, went to restore... She had apparently set it up to only back up the Admin user profile.   none of her pictures or files backed up, only a bunch of lame updates and game data.
The good news is that I don't think the hard drive is what got baked. But yeah, this will be my fault for letting her do it. |
