Some how .exe got set as to open with Internet explore. So now im unable to do anything. Cant even run a restore because that use exe. Any ideas?

Are you on Windows 7?  Here is exactly how to fix the problem from the Microsoft website:

Don't be afraid of the registry.

ETA: beat by macphisto.  You could do this manually a lot faster using regedit, but if you follow the instructions above you won't accidentally bork anything up

There's a new "drive by" exploit in the wild   Its getting droppers through on Chrome, IE, and FireFox.   Seems to be targeting political blogs, and of course they're getting pwn3d through wordpress exploits.   Dirtbag blackhats are pretty smart -- they know people will be doing a lot of politics reading about now.

You're fucked because it sounds like they exploit got an executable run, and its got your system by the nuts.

Make sure you get your personal files off, then wipe, reformat, and reinstall.

Protip:   I do all my browsing on a VirtualBox VM that has a fresh install of updated Windows 7, pared down to the minimum services and config necessary for web browsing, and which "resets" to its clean state every time the VM is restarted.   Saved me a hundred times from my main system getting fucked up.

I had already ran that and it didnt fix the problem, and unfortunately you cant even open command prompt.



Working with the IT guy at my work to take a look at it, he'll get it. This is a computer at my brothers business.
