I don't really want to spend anytime on Thanksgiving around my family.

I could go to my dad's, but the food would be terrible.

I could go to my aunt's, but it's a 1 hour drive each way.... meh.

I could stay home with my dogs. Cook a Cornish Hen, and just have fun all day long with the dogs.

I might be the worst child ever, since, my dad lives maybe 10 minutes away.

ETA: Flame suit on!

Dad's new wife is also a rabid liberal, so another reason I don't even want to go there.

You aren't alone.
The few family members I would like to see for the holidays are 4+ hours away.

I'm in Germany, wife won't be here til late December/early January. Not sure what I'll do, the unit has a Thanksgiving Day event, but I don't care to be with most of the oxygen thieves.

I love being with family on Thanksgiving.  But will be on shift. Also Christmas Eve night and Christmas night. Funny how things work out.

Thankfully (no pun intended), I'll be working on Thanksgiving. I tried to get Christmas Eve and Christmas Day as well, but they would only let me have one of the two, so I picked the 24th.

Sorry to hear, OP. I'll be missing Thanksgiving with my family because I'll be working a 16 hour shift that day.

Because I offered to cover anyone who wanted to take off because I hate holidays

Another day for me. Thanksgiving used to be at our house but my wife's sister in law has a new big house in the country so the wife and kids will be out there all day.

I work my regular job 0030-0830 (holiday pay) and my second job 1900-0700 like normal so my thanksgiving will be beating off and sleeping.

An hour drive?
You are obviously not rural because that isn't shit to those of us who drive 45 minutes for groceries and restaurants.

Thanksgiving is more than food and your loved ones won't be here forever.
Go be with your loved ones and don't be an ass.

I don't care for the Thanksgiving. The food is pretty boring and it is the same every year. Unfortunately I find time with the family tends to get worse as time goes on. I much rather prefer non-Holiday visits.

And then the stupidity of Black Friday comes around and it makes me want to not live on this planet (and order shit from PSA).
