I was REALLY hoping for him to be tapped for SOS but it looks like Rudy is the front runner for the job. Haven't seen anything from Newt much since the election.

He was on Fox last night. Seemed to be saying he would rather be a behind the scenes advisor vice actual cabinet position.

He's a major part of the problems we have now, doesn't need to hang around anymore.

That's a shame. His experience and knowledge of government matters and history would be invaluable as a SOS?

He'll make a good Man Behind the Curtain.

Another way to look at things is Newt, Rudy and a lot of the other names being tossed around are guys who are getting old.  Use them behind the scenes to school the new generation who will be able to work in government and lead the nation for two or three decades.

Relying on the same old guys and not mentoring new blood in the jobs will leave us in the same condition as the Democrats are finding themselves in; old guys still in office in their 80s and nobody being taught to be able to take their places when they die.

Newt wants to be behind the scenes planning a path for the future of the GOP.

I don't think you know as much about Newt as you think you do....
Commercials with Nancy Pelosi, hamming it up. Co hosting with known communist Van Jones on CNN. Kind of hard to figure him out.

That's Newtese for nobody offered him anything.

Personally, I'd rather not see Newt, as a career politician and former member of the GOP elite, in any cabinet post.

My point is, he must not remember the Newt that led the Republican Revolution that ended a 4 decade long Dem control of the House, got a massive capital gains tax cut passed,
the Taxpayer Relief Act,  was instrumental in balancing the Fed budget (which Clinton got credit for) and lead the impeachment  against Bill Clinton.

But, yeah, he's a GOP shill and "a problem".

May not like him but his knowledge and experience are invaluable even if not in a cabinet position.

This right here....

Newt is as Establishment as it gets. A behind the scenes guy sure, advising from a far but not part of the actual cabinet. Newt has a loooooooooooooooooot of baggage.
