So I took the county breakdowns from this map: https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/ng-interactive/2016/nov/08/us-election-2016-results-live-clinton-trump?view=map&type=presidential and did some photoshop magic to make this: ![]() Data is current as of noon today. Next visualization, economic status and crime rates by county as an overlay on the above breakdown. |

Misleading. This one is more telling. http://www-personal.umich.edu/~mejn/election/2012/statepop1024.png (size of states adjusted for population) That doesn't go by county though. Most of OR is red. |
|
Note, EVERY SINGLE COUNTY went red in Oklahoma. That's not the first time.
EVERY SINGLE county in Oklahoma has gone red in the past FIVE presidential elections. That's 20 straight years that a democrat hasn't been able to win a single county in Oklahoma. It may be more than 20 years......that's just how long I've been in OK and kept track of it. FWIW, Nebraska is #2. Tony |

A few observations....
1.) Oklahoma and WVU for th win. 2.) South Carolina will become a swing state, tons of blue there. 3.) 95% of Nevada, NorCal and South Oregon (State of Jefferson), and up State NY are getting raw dogged with absolutely zero representation in the Senate and Electoral College. That had got to change. One city shouldn't control an entire States politics. |

The last time all counties went Republican before that in Oklahoma was 1972 for Nixon. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_presidential_election_in_Oklahoma,_2000 |

The majority of the states in that map have large populations in a single metropolitan area that are driving the blue result for the entire state. Take the NEC for example: ![]() |

I'm thinking about breaking down each state the following way for future analysis:
I think photoshop is the wrong tool for this, I have a social network visualization tool that I wrote a while back that I may be able to rework... |
